A Whole Other Economy

There's a whole other economy out there to the one that most of us are educated and conditioned into.
People all over the world are making money in all sorts of ways alongside their jobs and traditional businesses: Blogging, YouTube, Internet Marketing, Membership Sites, Affiliate Marketing, Network Marketing/Direct Sales etc.

Many are making what is often referred to as 'residual' or 'passive income'; income that is paid without constantly exchanging your time or skills for money or chasing the next sale.

An excellent vehicle for generating this 'royalty type' income is network marketing or Direct Sales.  Instead of paying millions in advertising and celebrity endorsement, companies pay the product's consumers to do the marketing. Think of it like crowd marketing through word of mouth... in reality it's how most consumer businesses are built.

However, direct sales companies come and go. Some, like Avon and Amway have been around for decades. They're great companies but they have plateaued and it's very difficult for new representatives to make sizeable, regular incomes.

The challenge is to find a company that has a solid foundation, proven track record and massive growth potential.

The company I partnered with was founded in 2005 and have grown through the global recession. In 2013 our turnover was US$197 million.  In 2014 it was US$352 million.

We operate in the world's largest industry, the $7 trillion travel industry.  By innovating in such a gigantic industry a massive company is being created by securing a small slice of the pie.

Last night it was announced that we ranked 47 in the Direct Selling News Global 100. Up from 67 last year and 75 the year before. With a forecast turnover of $500,000,000 (half a billion) for this year we will rise even further in next years top 100.
The longer term goal is to be a $10 billion company and compete with Amway (household cleaning products) and Avon (cosmetics) to be the largest and most respected company in direct sales..

There are some great opportunities out there and I believe we have one of the  very best.
Get out there and find one you love and if you want to find out more about what we're doing visit my website or contact me.

The picture above is our co-founder Wayne Nugent with Warren Buffett one of the world's wealthiest people and the most successful investor of the 20th century. He knows a good deal when he sees one ;-)

Whatever you choose to do I wish you all the very best!

Happy hunting :-)

Be Grateful

It’s so easy to cuss, complain and dwell on problems and what we don’t have in life: not enough money, not enough time, a complaining boss, noisy children… the list could go on and on.  It’s not just easy to focus on what we don’t have, it’s an epidemic. People do it without thinking… in other words they do it subconsciously.

It takes far more effort to consciously be grateful for what we do have: enough money for food and a roof over our heads, children, a job, fresh drinking water. .. again the list could go on.  If you’re thinking that they are just basic needs you would be right… but thousands of people die every day because they don’t have access to clean water.

What has been touted as a great secret and sold in books and seminars for decades is now being proved scientifically and that is that what we think about we bring about.  Therefore having an attitude of gratitude is extremely important.  As Oprah Winfrey said “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough”.

People and things are attracted to people that have a good vibe (short for vibration). Having an attitude of gratitude is attractive. Moaning and complaining isn’t.  However, for most people, it does take a conscious and sustained effort to change behaviour.

A great exercise is to make a gratitude video.  I did one some time ago and although I was unsure of what I was going to put in it at the beginning the ideas started flowing once I got going.

Here’s my video. If you enjoy it or if this blog has been interesting or helpful please comment.  If you make your own video please feel free to share it.

…and thank you ;-)

Why Mindset Is Important When The Media Cries “Recession”

The following is an extract from a book by John C. Maxwell.
It's a great analogy of why the media’s cry of “we are heading into a recession” is a self-fulfilling prophecy and why mindset is so important.

A man lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs. He was hard of hearing, so he had no radio. He had trouble with his eyes, so he read no newspapers. But he sold good hot dogs.
This man put up signs on the highway advertising his wonderful hot dogs. He stood on the side of the road and cried, "Buy a hot dog, Mister?" And people bought his hot dogs. He increased his meat and bun orders, and he bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade.
He made enough money to put his son through college.
Unfortunately, the son came home from college an educated pessimist. He said, "Father, haven't you been listening to the radio? Haven't you been reading the newspaper? There's a big recession on. The European situation is terrible, and the domestic situation is worse."
Whereupon the father thought, "Well, my son's been to college. He reads the paper and he listens to the radio; he ought to know."
So the father cut down his meat and bun orders, took down his signs, and no longer bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hot dogs. Of course, his sales fell overnight.
"You're right, son," the father said to the boy. "We certainly are in the middle of a big recession."

To emphasise the point and the importance of mindset I will continue the story myself:

On the other side of town. A fellow hot dog seller also heard that there was a big recession.  However, this guy’s attitude was rather different from the pessimistic son of the other hot dog seller.
He increased his advertising and he increased his meat and bun orders.  He did so well that he bought out the business of a hot dog seller on the other side of the town.

The way we see things and the way we react to them is a choice. Making a personal choice, rather than following heard mentality, requires effort and a success mindset.

Thinking of setting some New Year’s resolutions?

New Year, traditionally a time for setting resolutions; new things you are going to do, new ways you are going to live your life, new goals to set and targets to achieve.

However, for most people, New Year's resolutions are short-lived and setting goals is too big a challenge. Some even see setting goals as negative. This is because in the past goals have been set for us by parents, teachers and employers and used to measure us and even judge us.

So instead, how about designing the way you want to live your life?

Here are a few ideas:

Where are you going to live? In what country? In which area? In what type of property?
What experiences are you going to give your children?
What new skills are you going to learn?
What foods are you going to eat and where are you going to eat them?
Where are you going to travel? Who are you going to travel with?
What activities are you going to participate in? Who are you going to do those with?
What car are you going to drive?
What clothes are you going to wear?
What charities or causes are you going to support?

Think of each area of your life e.g. personal growth, family, relationships, health, home, social, spiritual and design how would like it to be.
Add detail. Think of colour, sound, feel, smell.

Think of the feeling each of these designs gives you and really get into that emotion.

Go crazy; let your imagination run wild!

Think like a child.  Do not let your current circumstances restrict you. Where you are in life has no bearing on where you can go and what you can achieve.

Write your designs down. If you are not satisfied rewrite them.  Cross out. Doodle. Draw pictures, cut images out of magazines. Have fun! This is not work, this is pleasure!
You are designing your life and the way you want it to be!

Read and reread your designs daily. Get the feelings of living your designs inside of you. Do this several times a day at first. Eventually your subconscious will cause your conscious mind to take the actions and live your life in the way that is required for your designs to become your reality.

Make it a really happy New Year!

Design your life

The following exercise is designed to create a positive frame of mind and to help you to visualise your life the way you want it to be.

Read the following list of keywords slowly.
For each keyword write down a list of positive words or statements associated with that word.
Tune in to how each keyword makes you feel when associated with the positive descriptors.
For each word visualise yourself having, doing or being that way.  See, feel, touch, hear and smell.

e.g. Garden – fun, fruit trees, swimming pool, green lawn, sun, family games, bbq’s.

Review your list and repeat the visualisation several times a day to begin with. Eventually you will be able to tune into the feelings at will and you will begin to manifest the life that you visualise.
